We had an incredible day yesterday when the whole of HLC took part in our first ever “Charity Challenge!” All secondary Y5 and Y6 students and staff walked from HLC to the summit of the Wrekin! They met up with our youngest students, QHLC and The Bridge at the bottom of the Wrekin and everyone made it to the summit. It was a fantastic community event with lots of parents helping out and getting all our children to the top.
There was also a running event from HLC to the top and the times for some of the runners are truly impressive!
We would like to thank Saint Gobain for their sponsorship and support during the day. Each child was given a special luminescent bag to wear, bottles of water, HLC bangle and will be presented with a specially cast medal made in the foundry close to school.
Our caterers, Chartwells, donated 2000 bottles of water, our Interserve FM team did a great job supporting us on the day and with all the planning.
Thank you to everyone for making it such a fabulous day, so far we have raised nearly £10,000 for our chosen charities.
