Hadley Learning Community is an all-through school for students from 5 ñ 16 years of age located in the community of Hadley in central Telford. We have a fantastic 21st Century Learning campus, with outstanding learning facilities, which was purpose built to serve our community. The school opened on the 1st September 2006 and is a £70 million PFI project, in partnership with Interserve, which represents a major investment by the Borough of Telford and Wrekin Council. Interserve provides all of our facilities management on site and work closely with us every day to maintain a high quality environment for our students, staff and community.

HLC has a Principal, Dr. Gill Eatough who was appointed in 2004 to lead the organisation and to work with Interserve to design an innovative learning environment. Dr. Eatough has overall responsibility for HLC, with the Governors but has a Secondary Head Teacher, Mr. Paul Roberts, a Primary Head Teacher, Mrs. Erica Aston and a Head Teacher of Queensway HLC, Mr. Nigel Griffiths who lead their specific areas of HLC each day. The Bridge School has its own Head teacher Mrs Heather Davies who works closely with us.

  • The primary phase, for 5-11 year olds has 420 places with 60 children, in two classes, in each year group. We have been oversubscribed in our primary phase for many years. Our primary phase was graded ìGOODî by Ofsted in October 2012, again with many outstanding features. Our Year 6 students automatically transfer into Year 7 for their secondary education.
  • We also have a local authority maintained nursery, as part of our primary provision, which has places for 60 children who attend either a morning or afternoon session in a group of 30.
  • Queensway HLC is a separate provision for Y6 ñ Y13 students with a statement of Special Educational Needs for Autism located about 5 minutes, by road from our main campus, in its own specialist provision. We currently have 40 students on roll and have been awarded the prestigious Autism Quality Mark for the work we do at QHLC.
  • ABC Nursery, which is privately run but located on the campus and works very closely with HLC and The Bridge School. Many of our staffís children attend this nursery and it has an ìOutstandingî Ofsted grade.
  • There is a Family Centre for childrenís services and an early intervention team based on the campus known as Hadley Castle which provides a range of services to our community
  • There are extensive Community facilities, called The Circle, for sports which include a swimming pool and fitness suite as well as a Public Library, Coffee shop, Theatre and Dance Studio all used by the public during the day, evenings, weekends and holidays run by Interserve.
