Earlier this week, Year 6 took a trip to Apley Woods. We wanted a little inspiration for our writing so we invited in Dr Eatough to talk to us about survival skills. Her talk was extremely interesting and we learnt lots about how to look after ourselves on an expedition. Water and shelter were key. After the talk, we headed to Apley to test our own survival abilities. Without instructions we were challenged to put up a tent and had to see what natural materials were the most effective at purifying water. It was a great afternoon and we were much better at surviving than our teachers thought we would be!
