A message from the Principal
Welcome to the Hadley Learning Community
Hadley Learning Community is an all-through school for students from 5 – 16 years of age located in the community of Hadley in central Telford. We have a fantastic 21st Century Learning campus, with outstanding learning facilities, which was purpose built to serve our community. The school opened on the 1st September 2006 and is a £70 million PFI project, in partnership with Interserve, which represents a major investment by the Borough of Telford and Wrekin Council. Interserve provides all of our facilities management on site and work closely with us every day to maintain a high quality environment for our students, staff and community.
Our Vision and Structure
We are a truly inclusive school that passionately cares about every child so that they are safe, happy, confident, inspired to learn and therefore achieve academically.
Hadley Learning Community values the wealth of skills and experiences in our local community and is committed to building strong partnerships to help support, sustain and develop that community.
We prepare students to make the right choices in life by ensuring they are equipped with resilience, independence and ambition to guide them towards a rewarding and successful future within their local community, modern Britain and the wider world.
The primary phase, for 5-11 year olds is going through a period of planned growth and has 480 places. This is currently structured with 90 children, in three classes within early years and 60 children placed within two classes for the remaining year groups. We have been oversubscribed in our primary phase for many years. Our primary phase was graded “GOOD” by Ofsted in October 2012, again with many outstanding features. Our Year 6 students automatically transfer into Year 7 for their secondary education.
We also have a local authority maintained nursery, as part of our primary provision, which has places for 60 children who attend either a morning or afternoon session in a group of 30.
ABC Nursery, which is privately run but located on the campus and works very closely with HLC and The Bridge School. Many of our staff’s children attend this nursery and it has an “Outstanding” Ofsted grade.
There is a Family Centre for children’s services and an early intervention team based on the campus known as Hadley Castle which provides a range of services to our community
There are extensive Community facilities, called The Circle, for sports which include a swimming pool and fitness suite as well as a Public Library, Coffee shop, Theatre and Dance Studio all used by the public during the day, evenings, weekends and holidays run by Interserve.
We do hope that you find the site easy to use. If you cannot find the information you require or you wish to suggest further improvement then please do not hesitate to send us an email or telephone us.
