3A had a fantastic day at Denso full of bees, honey, exploring and sunshine!
We started the day with a fascinating talk from the resident ‘Bee Keepers’ who told us all about the bees that live at Denso. They showed us an observation hive so we could see them working and making honeycomb.
After that we got to taste some honey on toast which was cooked on the pizza oven. Delicious! Then we made some candles using beeswax strips.
In the afternoon, the children completed their STEM challenge. They designed and built their own Bug Hotels using natural resources such as logs, tubes, bamboo and twigs. The children worked so well on these and the end results will make perfect habitats for the minibeasts of Denso!
A brilliant day was had by all!
