E-Leaders at HLC Primary
HLC is proud to have 7 Year 6 E-Leaders. These are children who have been identified as enjoying and having a talent in the area of Computer Science. These children are easily recognisable within school by their black jumpers with ‘E-Leader’ lettering on the reverse.
As part of the E-Leaders team, our E-Leaders:
- Test new ICT resources, including websites, software and hardware
- Help to develop the Computing curriculum
- Share their skills and expertise with other pupils and teachers
- Lead lunchtime clubs for other children
- Take part in special events linked to Computing and eSafety
- Lead assemblies and participate in parent events on eSafety
What do our E-Leaders say?
E-Leader Joshua said “I love being an E-Leader because I love technology and discovering new things about it. My favourite activity that I have done as an E-Leader was when we went to the Discover Digital event at Southwater and met Titan the Robot!”
The E-Leaders’ most recent project was using HLC’s Green Screen. The children were trained on how to use the equipment and then worked with the children in Year 2 to create some festive pictures using the app on the iPads. You can see some of the work that they created below.
E-Leader Freya said “It is fun to be an E-Leader! I like getting to teach the younger children new skills and I loved using the Green Screen. The little ones faces when they saw themselves in Santa’s workshop and riding on the reindeer were so cute!”Freya - E-Leader
E-Leaders recently had the opportunity to attend ‘Discover Digital’ in Southwater. This was an opportunity for the children to see the careers available in STEM subjects and they were able to have a go in a full motion racing driving simulator, try 3D printing and try virtual reality! Plus, they also met Titan the Robot!
