Our Homework Club supports children from Reception to Year 6 after school each day.
The focus of Homework Club is learning, teaching assistants from across the school are employed to support children with the homework they have been set in class and any additional learning they want to complete to further extend their understanding of the topics they have covered. There is an expectation that children will complete their homework at the club and resources are always available to support children.
In response to parent’s feedback the club is particularly helpful to parents who are not in a position to support children with this at home. Children will benefit from adult support and the staff they work with are familiar with the strategies they have been learning in class. Literacy and Mathematics activities are available once homework is complete; and there is also the opportunity for the children to read with the adults at the club.
The club runs in the library every day and parents can collect their child at 4pm from the area outside the library. Places in the club are limited so it is advisable to book in advance. This can be done with Mrs Petford on our reception desk.
