Our main rewards system operates through the awarding of Hadley Learning Credits (HLCs) in the shape of small round ‘smiley face’ stickers which children collect and stick onto their own ‘100 sticker’ chart.
HLCs can be awarded for a wide variety of other positive contributions to school and community life such as:-
- Good role model behaviour
- Producing excellent work
- Improved performance or work output
- Volunteering and helping around school
- Participation in teams
- Participation in clubs and activities
- Sustained friendship and supporting others
- Improvement in personal organisation and independence
- Community activity
- Taking responsibility
- Good homework
When a student achieves 100 HLCs they are congratulated and then seen by the Head and Deputy Headteacher, when they have the chance to choose a small gift. We record the total HLCs achieved by each student.
Other Primary Rewards
Children with 100% attendance receive a certificate at the end of each term and are congratulated in assembly. The class achieving the highest level of attendance on a weekly basis keeps an Attendance Cup for a week and is rewarded with an additional playtime. At the end of the academic year the class with the highest attendance for the whole year is rewarded with a trip of their choice. These have included cinema trips, visits to Jungleland and a day out in Wonderland. The trip takes place in the first few weeks of the next academic year with the winning class always keen to win again!
Primary staff are encouraged to use class based systems that complement the whole campus ethos. This could include ‘Star of the Week’, for example.
Primary students are nominated for a weekly celebration assembly by staff, this is connected to great work or attitudes to learning in all areas of the curriculum. Celebration assembly is held on Fridays and parents are informed when their child has taken part with a certificate of achievement through the post.
At lunchtime staff award golden tickets for helpfulness, manners and supporting each other through play. All children who have been awarded Golden Tickets are entered into a weekly prize draw which is completed during each of our team assemblies.
