Dear Parents and Carers,
I hope you have enjoyed the summer holidays with the relaxation of COVID restrictions. As we look ahead to the next academic year and further to the email you received during the summer holidays confirming your child’s tutor group and appointment time for Covid Testing on Monday 6th or Tuesday 7th September. Please see the below table below for a reminder of these slots.
The government have given us updated guidance on testing of students. The requirement will be for us to carry out two lateral flow tests during the first two weeks of term. The need to test all students as they return means we will be having a staggered start to the Autumn term.
We will use your consent from last academic year. If you have not previously completed this form – either because your child is new in Year 7 or you had chosen not to complete testing previously, then please do so using the link below.
This is a two stage process –
- Register (sets us an account on SchoolScreener.com)
- Log into your account and provide consent to testing
The tables below identify the day and time slot for each tutor group to arrive in school for their test. You will have been emailed this information in a personalised letter to yourselves during the holidays.
As it did last year, the test will take approximately 45 minutes. Once your child has been tested on either the Monday or Tuesday, they will immediately return home. Presuming that the result of the test is negative, they will then attend school on the following days –
Year 7 and Year 11 will return on Tuesday 7th September, Year 8, 9 and 10 will return on Wednesday 8th September. On the day that your child’s year group returns to school, they will come in at 8.40am in full school uniform to begin their start of term. If your child returns a positive lateral flow test on either the Monday or Tuesday, we will inform you immediately and will support you to follow the guidance on the next steps.
We wish you a lovely rest of the holiday. We are available via email if you have any questions.
Mr. P. Thompson
