Dear Parents and Carers,
As we would look forward to Christmas Holidays, we would like to share with you the arrangements for returning to school in January.
The government have given us updated guidance on testing of students. The requirement will be for us to carry out one lateral flow test during the first week of the Spring term. The need to test all students as they return means we will be having a staggered start for year groups to the Spring term.
If you have previously consented to your child being tested, we will use this consent to test your child in January. If you have not previously completed this form, then please do so using the link below.
This is a two-stage process –
- Register (sets us an account on SchoolScreener.com)
- Log into your account and provide consent to testing
The testing timetable for the two days – Tuesday 4th January and Wednesday 5th January, can be seen below. The testing dates and then return dates for each year group are as follows:
|Year Group||Testing Day||Return to School Day|
|Year 7||Tuesday 4th January||Wednesday 5th January|
|Year 8||Wednesday 5th January||Thursday 6th January|
|Year 9 H Band||Tuesday 4th January||Thursday 6th January|
|Year 9 L Band||Wednesday 5th January||Thursday 6th January|
|Year 10||Wednesday 5th January||Thursday 6th January|
|Year 11||Tuesday 4th January||Wednesday 5th January|
Click here to see your child’s testing time for their tutor group on each day. Students will record this time in their planners during the last week of term.
We will be operating 6 bays during each day and with students arriving in their allotted 15-minute intervals, students should be in and out in approximately this time. Once your child has been tested, they will immediately return home. We will only contact parents in the event of a positive result and so if you do not hear from school on the day of your child’s test, they have tested negative and are safe to return to school on their given return to school day – see table above.
Your child will be receiving a 7 pack of home testing kits on the last day of term. Please ensure that your child continues to test twice weekly – Sunday evening and Wednesday evening and records the result on the government recording website – https://www.gov.uk/report-covid19-result
With the ongoing challenges we face with COVID 19 and the new variant – Omicron, we would like to thank all students and parents for their ongoing support by bringing a face mask to school each day, testing regularly and getting vaccinated when they are old enough to do so. We look forward to welcoming the students back after the holiday.
Mr. P. Thompson
