Lunchtime Arrangements
If your child is entitled to free school meals then their card will be charged to the value of a free school meal for each day. This means that no student will have to use a different system for free school meals and ensures that they do not feel that they are singled out when using our catering facilities.
Free School Meals
Pupils will not be allowed to leave the site at lunchtime unless they are going home for lunch. We will require a letter from parents requesting this and the student will then be issued with a special pass.
Lunchboxes
If your child wishes to bring a packed lunch into school then we urge parents to ensure that it is healthy and meets the recommendations for children’s diets. Fizzy drinks and sweets are discouraged. Healthy snacks will be available for our students.
Water
All students will be actively encouraged to drink water during the day. Students will require a water bottle which is durable and will not leak. Students will be able to fill these bottles during the day.
ACTION ON SUGAR!
This year Public Health England have released new recommendations for industry to reduce sugar in food. Autograph are committed to supporting pupils to achieve a healthy diet and our Eat Well Live Well strategy includes the following commitments to reduce sugar:
Desserts
Our homemade desserts are developed by our Executive Chef to reduce the amount of sugar and include healthy ingrediants such as wholegrain cereals, fruits and vegetables.
Drinks
All drinks are compliant with the School Food Standards Healthy Drinks List.
Confectionary
We do not serve any confectionary.
Suppliers
We work closely with our suppliers to source nutritionally preferable ingrediants which are lower in suger.
