AT HLC we believe that knowledge provides the gateway to success. Teachers have created knowledge organisers for each subject. These are the essential, core knowledge that students need to know and understand in order to be successful in their learning. There will be different knowledge organisers for each term, which will support students’ learning in the lessons.

Research has demonstrated that the best way to learn this information is for students to repeatedly test themselves on how much they can remember. To aid memory the knowledge organisers have been broken down into sections so that students can learn a section at a time for each subject. Don’t forget to keep testing yourself on the sections that you think you already know to make sure you haven’t forgotten any of it! Knowledge organisers form the basis of homework with the expectation that students will learn different subjects each night. Teachers will then quiz students in school to help check for any gaps in knowledge to target future learning.
