Welcome to the Learning Community Trust – Virtual Careers Festival
This is an online event for you to find out as much information as possible about what to do and where to go when you complete Year 11. For some of you that might be at least a year away, we still include you though. It’s a really big decision and will take time. It’s the decision which will bring you closer to your career choice whether that is at the end of a 2 year apprenticeship or a university course, your first step on this road is your choice and this is where you get the opportunity to specialise with your best performing, favourite subjects – academically or vocationally. However – the new part, is you might even consider taking up something brand new. Something you’ve been waiting for over the last 2 years like sociology, construction or maybe something you only just discover but the more you find out about it – the more its got your name on it. Forensic science or beauty therapy might just be it!
Step 1: Look at the Schedules
All of them cover A levels, BTECs, practical study at 6th Forms and colleges, apprenticeship and training courses. We have also brought in lots of employers who can talk about what its like working in that sector, how they got there, what they recommend. Click “download schedule” for the exact times of their live sessions.
Step 2: Come up with a plan
Each session is only 15 minutes. You’ll need more than one session to get that balanced viewpoint you need to make an informed decision. Choose which days you want to join and what times the sessions are during that evening.
Step 3: Sign Up!
Click the “Register” button and sign up. It’s that simple! Registration will take a minute or two. Choose the days you want, complete the form (we recommend with your school email account). Complete a couple of tick boxes on what year group and school you’re in. Then leave us with a question and we will ask the panellists on your behalf. (Don’t worry – we’re not asking you to go on camera live). After registration, you will have the option to add the webinar to your calendar and we recomend you do this as your device will remind you to join. Keep a note of your plan, so you know what times to tune in.
